Herringbone Gears for heavy industrial equipment

Helical Gears

At Foshan Lianyi Gear Factory, we manufacture helical gears for drives where smooth transmission and high load capacity matter more than simplicity. The angled teeth engage gradually rather than all at once, which spreads the load across more tooth contact and keeps noise and vibration low — even at high speed and heavy torque. We produce to your drawing, or reverse-engineer from a worn sample.

Key Features
  • Smooth and Quiet: Angled teeth engage gradually, reducing noise and vibration compared with straight-tooth gears.
  • High Load Capacity: Greater tooth contact area handles heavier torque in the same envelope.
  • Large Diameter: Manufactured up to 3.2 meters for heavy industrial drives.
  • Grade 5 Precision: Achievable for modules 1–6 M.
  • Custom Geometry: Tooth profile optimization available, including crowning and tip relief.
  • Single and Double Helical: Available as single-helical or herringbone configuration.
Technical Specifications
  • Diameter Range: Up to 3.2 meters
  • Module Range: 1–40 MM
  • Precision Level: Up to Grade 5 (modules 1–6 M)
  • Materials: 42CrMo4, 20CrMnTi and other alloy steels
  • Helix Angle: Cut to your specification
  • Heat Treatment: Carburizing, quenching and tempering, nitriding
  • Surface Finish: Ground tooth flanks on request
Applications

Our helical gears are widely used in industries such as:

  • Shipbuilding and Marine Drives
  • Steel and Metallurgy
  • Mining and Crushing Equipment
  • Cement and Chemical Processing
  • Power Transmission Gearboxes
  • Crane and Port Machinery
  •
Production Process
  1. Design & Engineering: Custom geometry created in CAD, with profile modification where the application calls for it.
  2. Material Selection: Alloy steel selected and certified against the part number.
  3. Precision Machining: Hobbing and shaping for the tooth form, then grinding where the precision grade requires it.
  4. Heat Treatment: Carburizing and hardening for surface wear resistance with a tough core.
  5. Quality Inspection: Tooth profile, lead and pitch verified with gear measuring instruments.
  6. Final Finishing: Surface treatment and preservation for transport and storage.
